Supreme baking quality achieved via mutation in storage proteins (Glutenins and Gliadins). Bright grain color, suitable for a whole meal baking products.

The first commercial wheat cultivar that was developed by cell engineering (tissue culture) and was introduced successfully to agriculture.

Breeding of Winter Cereal for Forage
Breeding winter cereals (wheat, triticale and oat) in Israel for high biomass, grain yield and quality for cattle feed. Winter annual crops like wheat, oat and barley are used also as the fodder crop. These all are used as forage and make excellent feed for diaries, horses and other livestock. Biomass and nutrient quality (fibers, ashes and others) are important characteristics which we target in this breeding program.
